·Related experience: Minimum 5 years within Security Occupational Health & Safety;


    ·Develop, implement and maintain an effective security, health and safety programmed and ensure compliance to satisfy the requirements of local legislation;

    ·Undertake periodical (every three years) security risk assessments for the hotel unless there is an accident/incident that requires such to be undertaken over a shorter period.

    ·On the basis of the security risk assessment, develop and maintain an updated security plan/manual specific to Corinthian Hotel Khartoum, including the required policies, procedures and checklists.

    ·Develop and update on a regular basis, an occupational health and safety manual specific to Hotel, including the necessary policies, procedures, checklists/forms and workflows;

    ·Develop systems to ensure all employees comply with all relevant legal safety requirements;

    ·Identify security and safety training needs, organize and co-ordinate security and safety training courses and prepares training material where appropriate;

    ·Coordinate a monthly security meeting with members of the Security Department to ensure that these are aware of latest developments.

    ·Co-ordinate a monthly safety meeting, and ensure that meeting times are set, agendas and meeting minutes are sent out;

    ·Respond to guests’ and employees’ security and safety concerns;

    ·Ensure that all support documentation in respect of the safety programmed is received on time and in the correct format from all concerned parties;

    ·Assist in the appointment of safety representatives for all departments

    ·Communicate changes in security, health and safety legislation to the Hotel Manager;

    ·Evaluate security, health and safety incident forms, surveys, audits to establish root causesand together with Supervisors and managers concerned, formulate plan of action to correct non-compliant behavior or conditions;

    ·Liaise with on-site contractors to ensure their compliance with Hotel.

    ·Security, health and safety regulations and adherence to security, health and safety.

    ·Standards, including basic security, health and safety induction training.

    ·Conduct security, health and safety surveys and audits as required identifying risks and liabilities to Hotel.

    ·Identify threats and risks that undermine the security of the hotel, verify the root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures.

    ·Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes and identify corrective and preventative actions and report to management.

    ·Co-ordinate at least two evacuation exercises per year to ensure that all staff become familiar with these procedures.

    ·Assist with the formulation of emergency/contingency plans for:

§Natural disasters

§Industrial action

§Social unrest



§Bomb threats

    ·Review and update Emergency Procedures as and when necessary.

    ·Contribute to the annual Hotel budgetary planning exercise.

    ·To take the lead in managing the response to a fire on Hotel property.

    ·To coordinate the registration and removal of any hazardous waste from Hotel property.

    ·To manage the first aid and fire-fighting responsiveness training at Hotel.

    ·To liaise with the security, health and fire authorities as a security, health and safety focal point for Hotel.

    ·To liaise with HR & Administration on matters pertaining to Hotel insurance policies or liability claims thereupon.

    ·To perform other duties as may be assigned by the Hotel Manager.


    ·Qualifications and relevant experience within Security Occupational Health & Safety;

    ·Helpful and flexible approach to tasks with a “can do” attitude. Understand the principles of team- working;

    ·Excellent customer care skills, honest attitude with a high degree of integrity;

    ·Able to communicate effectively with guests, contractors, and staff at all levels of the organization structure;

    ·Able to exercise initiative and priorities duties and work tasks accordingly based on a professional understanding of Security, Health & Safety activities within Hotel environment.

    ·Able to work to a high standard against agreed time-scales with limited supervision.

    ·Sound knowledge of Hotel staff rules and guidelines.

    ·IT literate, with experience of data input on networked computer systems and coaching staff in this respect;
