To manage the Spiritual & Religious individual and group programmers and Team and to provide Islamic religious guidance, practices, and leadership to the Guest Clients at the hospital per the teachings of the Holy Quran. To work with Guest Clients and their families in accordance with Islam to promote rehabilitation and recovery.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience

    ·Degree in Islamic Studies or equivalent.

    ·Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.

    ·At least 7 years of experience in a spiritual and religious counselling role, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.


Spiritual & Religious Counselling

§Provide Islamic religious psychosocial interventions as per recommendations of the clinical team.

§Provide Islamic religious guidance, practices, and leadership to the Guest Clients at The hospital according to the teachings of the Holy Quran, and provide spiritual and religious counselling services tailored to those who are looking to achieve sobriety through strengthening their faith and relationship with Allah.

§Attend multidisciplinary team meetings, to contribute, plan, monitor and evaluate care.

§Work closely with Guest Clients and their families in accordance with Islamic teachings to explore the impact of addiction on them, their families and their faith, and come up with practical steps to promote rehabilitation and recovery.

§Collaborates in developing a personalised recovery plan with Guest Clients to help them understand their problems and act accordingly, making them accountable to the plan and further encourage commitment.

§Ensure programme helps Guest Clients find meaning and purpose in their lives through their Islamic beliefs, and rebuild their hopes to motivate them and support their healing process.

§Be aware of the cultural context to understand the social struggle Guest Clients face and the impact addiction has on their faith, to help them overcome these challenges by strengthening their relationships with God and making them productive again.

Facilitate group counseling programmers to allow Guest Clients to develop spiritual connections with others and gain their support help in the healing process and prevent Guest Clients’ relapse.

Religious practice

§Use tools like dua (prayer), journaling, the wisdom of the Prophet, Islamic practices, recovery manuals and the stories and experiences of others suffering from addictions to help Guest Clients on their journey.

§Lead prayers with Guest Clients.

    Treatment Follow up

    §Implement follow up programmers to ensure effective recovery and reintegration of Guest Clients into society, and provide them with ongoing support after their


§Present programmers to the community to spread awareness about the field and encourage Guest Clients and healthcare providers to use religious faith in the treatment processes.

§Present programmers to governmental agencies to spread awareness of the field and to use religious faith in their dealings with Guest Clients

People Management

§Supervise the activities and work performed by spiritual and religious team to ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in line with the clinical requirements, annual business plans, and departmental policies and procedures.

Recommend training and development interventions for team members to build their capabilities.

Medical Records

Update and utilise the information provided on the EMR as well as promote to the team the use of the tools and systems to support the clinical activities, improve efficiency and support decision making.

Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) Involvement

§Participate in the MDT meetings, discussions and activities including the defining of standards of care and care pathways as defined by the clinical/service line requirements to ensure guest client centric care from a clinical, wellness and hospitality perspective as well as to support the organisation in providing the Guest Clients with extensive range of professional treatment services,

§Liaise with other departments, MDT, government agencies, religious units and other healthcare agencies to gain their support in delivering treatment to Guest Clients and ensuring their sustained recovery.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures

§Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of departmental systems, processes and practices considering ‘international leading practice’ to improve business processes, productivity and operational efficiency.

Implement all relevant departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.


Prepare relevant clinical and departmental reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet clinical requirements, and the departmental requirements, policies and standards.

§The jobholder Key decisions having significant impact on the function/department are referred to the direct manager for approval exercises financial and non-financial authority as per the level established by the the hospital management and stipulated in the delegation of authority.

§The job require flexibility to work on call, day or night shift as needed


    ·Demonstrated skills in Islamic family counseling.

    ·Knowledge of addiction principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation as well as knowledge of addiction counselling and guidance.

    ·Demonstrable skills in developing and providing person-centred approaches.

    ·Ability to work well as part of a team.

    ·Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    ·Ability to accommodate change in the workplace.

    ·Excellent use of the English language (must) and Arabic language (preferred).

    ·Basic IT skills and ability to use management information systems.

    ·Good skill handling personnel from a multi-cultural work environment.

    ·Ability to motivate, develop and manage people as they work, and identify the best people for the job.
